MOST REV. PETER JASPER AKINOLA VISITS GOVERNOR JONAH JANG IN JOS
While expressing his sympathy with the people of Plateau State, especially with those who lost family members and valuables
in the senseless attack on Christians, the Primate urged the Governor of Plateau State to ensure that the culprits and anyone
responsible at any level are punished by the law.
Most Rev. Akinola requested Governor Jang to work with all the Governors of other states in the country to come up with a
permanent solution to these attacks on Christians in whatever guise they may emerge so that there will not be a repeat of this
'satanic attack' on the church again. 'Enough is enough!' of these consistent attacks on Christians and Churches.
Akinola urged Christians to consistently go to the Lord in prayers and work for enduring peace in the country.
Governor Jang, in his response, promised to look at reports of other Judicial Commissions of Enquiry into the last crisis in Jos
and the Commission to be set very soon for this crisis and assess the for implementation.
The Primate thereafter visited the Trinity Anglican Church, near the University of Jos Hostel and then donated foodstuff,
material and cash to the CAN chairman in Plateau State.
The Archbishop of Jos, The Most Rev. Dr Benjamin Kwashi, who hosted the primate, thanked the Primate for making time out
of his tight schedule to see the situation for himself and for the support to Jos Diocese and to Christians the State in general.
