Preamble

To God be the glory this vision the Lord God gave to His Grace, The Lord Bishop of Jos Diocese
in the year 2002, when there was religious crisis which caused many loss of lives, and people
were left homeless. This was remarkable at the southern Senatorial zone of Plateau State.
History
The care Ministry of the diocese is called the “Diocesan Relief and Welfare Board”.
The Board has had different members under the leadership of the past coordinator, Rev Kamji
Dimka who is now in the new missionary Diocese of Langtang diocese.
Mrs. Margaret H. Genka has now taken over  to continue from where the previous board stopped.
Implementation of action plan awareness
The present Board comprises of a member each from all the districts within the Diocese and they
are responsible for crating awareness at all levels starting from the local church, districts and the
Diocese as a whole.

Mobilization
The same members are responsible for mobilizing church members financially and materially for
support to people in need. The board works to achieve the goals set before it.
Relief materials
The relief materials like foodstuffs, clothes, bedding, cooking utensils or finances that are got from
individuals, families or any organizations or groups shall be distributed to victims of crisis, flood or
fire disasters, widows and orphans in dear need.
The diocesan Relief and Welfare Board representatives would research in their areas and report
to the main body for necessary action.
Glory be to God, since the creation of the New Jos Diocese we have not witnessed any crises but
we are considering reaching out to the newly established congregations that are not yet strong
enough to stand on their own.
This caring Ministry is not only for the Board, but individuals, Church groups; families etc are
encouraged to participate within the diocese, and even outside the diocese.
