1. Chapel Services.
  i. Weekdays:
          6.30a.m.        Silent Prayer
          6.50a.m.        Monday /Tuesday: Morning Prayer
                          Wednesdays: Addu'ar Safe
                          Thursdays: Morning Prayer with Litany
                          Friday: Holy Communion
                          Saturday: Morning Prayer
          12.30p.m.        Midday Prayer
          Wednesdays: Mid-week Bible Study / Prayers
          8.30p.m.        Compline / Evening Prayers

  ii. Sunday:
           9.00a.m. Bible Study
          10.00a.m. Holy Communion / Morning Prayer
           8.30a.m. Evening Prayer

Worship is the foundation of our life.  Punctual attendance at all services is compulsory for all students, wives and families.
A personal discipline of daily prayer and devotion is also expected.

2.
Week of Prayer / Quiet Days
These are arranged on an annual basis as appropriate.  

3. College Groups
Each student is allocated to a College Group.  These groups function as prayer groups and also as work groups.  Groups meet together for
prayer at least once a week.
A weekly rota of group duties is posted on the notice board.  
4. Residence
All full-time and part-time students must be resident at the college.
No female student is allowed into the men's hostel and no male student is allowed into the female hostel.
The hostel gate must be locked during lectures and Chapel services.

5.
Library
The Library is open to Christian Institute staff and students only.  Users will be asked to show their I.D. cards.

i. Hours of Opening:                8.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
                                          2.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.

ii. ALL books will be checked on exit from the Library (including personal books).

iii. Borrowing of books:         
  a. Maximum of 2 books per person.
  b. Books may be borrowed for ONE WEEK ONLY. (Should a borrower wish to renew a book, the book must be brought into the Library and
signed out again).

iv. No bags may be taken into the Library.

v. No food or drink may be taken into the Library.

vi. Books must not be marked (even in pencil), defaced or damaged in any way.  Any such damage or loss will be paid for by the person
responsible.

vii. After use, Library books should be returned to the front table (marked “Returned Books”) and NOT to the shelves.
viii. For the benefit of all users, the library is a place of silence.  Conversations, radios, mobile phones and head-sets are not allowed.

ix. Reserved Section
  Books in this section are core books for particular courses and may not be taken out of the Library.
  To use these books:         
          a. Apply to the Librarian
          b. Sit at the reserved front table
          c. Return books to the Librarian
          d. Should you wish to photocopy pages from these books, application and payment must be made through the Librarian.

6.
Examinations
Any student who has recorded an attendance of less than 80% in classes and lectures may not be allowed to sit the examination in that
subject.
Students must have paid all fees in full before being allowed into the examination hall for their final examinations.
Uniform must be worn for examinations.

7.
Project  /  Long Essay
The long essay required from final year Diploma students must be submitted (typed and bound) to the college office by 1 November in the
year of the completion of the course work.
B.D. projects must be submitted (typed and presented in a loose leaf file) to the college office by 1 November, immediately following the
completion of their course work.  Such students will then defend their work in December, make the necessary corrections, and present the
final version (typed and bound) by 10 January.
Should any student fail to present such work on time, he/she may be given permission to present it the following year.  Thereafter the course
work will be deemed to have lapsed, and the student will be required to re-register and come into residence at the college for at least one
complete semester, before presenting their project/long essay and being considered for graduation.

8.
Boys’ Brigade Officer Training Corps
The Boys’ Brigade Officer Training Corps meets each week, and this activity is a two credit compulsory course for all full-time programmes.
The Boys’ Brigade is an excellent arm of evangelism and discipleship, and forms part of our mission outreach.

9.
Grades
It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that any carry-overs are rectified without delay.
Students who persistently fail to meet the spiritual and / or academic requirements of the college may be advised to withdraw from the course
or from the college.

10.
Discipline
A high standard of courtesy and politeness is expected at all times.
Disobedience or refusal to comply with college expectations will incur severe penalties and will be reported to the College authorities and the
Disciplinary Committee.
Examination malpractice or academic fraud of any kind is a most serious offence.  The student will be immediately suspended from college.

11.
Dress
A high standard of neatness and cleanliness is expected at all times.
Uniform will be worn for all Chapel services and lectures and in the library.  Cassocks should be worn with a girdle or black belt.  Black socks
and shoes should be worn.
When leading worship, those who are ordained will wear the full, correct clerical dress; those who are not ordained will wear cassock and
surplice (with shirt, collar and tie).  
Note: 1. A cassock alb may be worn only by a priest.
          2. A cotta (with square neck and fitted sleeves) may not be used in place of a surplice.        

12.
Environment
It is the responsibility of the student body to keep the entire college (including hostels, classrooms, library, chapel and the environment) neat
and clean at all times.
Rubbish should be put in the bins, and subsequently burned in the place provided.
Flower beds, shrubs and trees are to be well kept and weeded.
Hostel rooms, cooking areas, bathrooms and toilets should be cleaned with disinfectant daily, and water provided in each toilet.  
It is expected that all students will participate in compound work and general sanitation.

13.
Sports and Practical Activities
All students are encouraged to take part in sports and physical exercise.  The full-time students boast a strong football team, and have
recorded wins over various other colleges, churches and schools.
Practical activities, such as block-making and building, tree planting and gardening, are included whenever opportunity and need arise.


14.
Gates
Students may, if necessary, go to the market in the afternoon when they have no classes.  They must obtain permission from the duty prefect.
All students must be in the college by 8.30p.m. daily.  The hostel gate will be locked at this time.

15.
Electrical Appliances
All electrical appliances must be used from the sockets in the hostel.
The wiring in the hostel rooms must not be adjusted or tampered with in any way.  
No appliance may be run from the light socket.
  
16.
Generator
The generator will be used as necessary for classes requiring light.
No student may enter the Generator House, except those whose duty this is.  
No-one should enter the generator house wearing a cassock or flowing garment.  
The generator must be turned off before fuel is added, or any other adjustments are made.
  
17.
Exits
  (a) Full-time Diploma and Certificate courses:
One exit weekend only will be allowed each month.
Students depart after compound work and classes on Friday and return on Sunday evening.
Students must obtain permission from, and report back to, the Chaplain.
          
  (b) Part-time B.D. and P.G.D. courses:
Students may leave after lectures on Friday and return on Sunday evening.  The exeat book should be signed appropriately.
18. HIV / AIDS
In view of the rapidly increasing spread of HIV / AIDS and the need for Christian counsel and support for those who have contracted this
disease, the Christian Institute has adopted the following procedures:
All candidates who pass the entrance examination and interview will be required to have an HIV test.  This will be paid for by the candidate and
will be arranged by the Clinic and by qualified medical personnel of the Gospel Health and Development Services of the Anglican Diocese of
Jos, and will be done at the college.
Should the test prove to be positive, further counselling and medical advice will be offered to the candidate.  The decision as to whether the
candidate still begins the proposed course at the Christian Institute will be made by the candidate in consultation with the counsellor / doctor.

19.
Personal Property
Students must take good care of personal property at all times.
The Christian Institute accepts no responsibility for the loss of any personal possessions.
Mobile phones must be turned off during Chapel services and lectures.
Cars may be parked outside the hostel, but this is done at the owner’s risk.

20.
Marriage
Should a student desire to be married during the course of his/her programme, it is expected that the wedding will be arranged during the
vacation.  For the sake of all concerned, the ceremony should be AT LEAST TWO WEEKS away from the end or beginning of any semester.
